About the Journal
Journal of Exchanges, Clearing & Settlement (JECS) is an international, peer-reviewed, online journal focusing on the exchange and post-trade industry, from custody through trading to clearing and settlement.
JECS seeks to provide academics, practitioners, and regulators a space to publish and read high quality, timely research in areas that are relevant to exchanges, clearing houses, and central securities depositories.
The JECS is looking for outstanding primary research articles which engage with the existing literature and are relevant to current events and discourse. JECS has an international viewpoint and prioritizes submissions which are of interest beyond a single jurisdiction. It does not consider opinion pieces or white papers.
JECS is published solely online and offers double-blind peer review.
To ensure fast publication, articles are published online and are downloadable in PDF format as soon as they have completed the peer review and editing processes and have been approved for publication. Also, at the review stage, the journal does not require to change the manuscript to suit the journal’s style guide: where necessary, authors are required to make formatting and other style changes after acceptance.
Articles are published in complete form. While there are no fixed number of issues per year, published articles are consecutively arranged into volumes and issues for ease of identification and reference. If there is a special issue on a common theme, publication of individual articles may be deferred until the issue is completed.
JECS is an open access journal. Articles are published under a creative commons license.
JECS do not charge fees for review or publication.
JECS is supported by the World Federation of Exchanges (WFE), the global trade association of exchanges and clearing houses, as part of its mandate to support and promote the development of fair, transparent, stable, and efficient markets; and to educate stakeholders on how exchanges and CCPs serve the economy. However, the decision for publication relies exclusively on the journal’s Editorial Board. The views expressed in the articles published in the JECS are the authors’ only and do not necessarily represent the views of the WFE or of its members.
